Suburban Conspiracy - a casual year of success |
|
On March 31st, 2008, I had a dream of launching a website where casual geeks and part time nerds could gather and hang out. It began with a close knit group of friends wirting articles and sharing ideas, but quickly became something more! Before we knew it, we had over a hundread members and the forums were full. Folks submitted articles and new authors were inducted into the writing staff.
One full year. There were people who were dubtful we would make it two full Issues, but we did twenty seven! Some Issues had five articles, some had as many as ten, and all were a miracle. Ok, so it wasn't exactly that amazing that we pulled it together, but I had my fair share of worries on publishing nights. As much has it made what little hair I had fall out, I could not have done it all by myself. Suburban Conspiracy, no... I im indebted to every last author who submitted an article and every reader of said articles. Thank you!
However, it seems that all good things must come to a close...

Before I really dig into the meat of this issue's topic, though, I'd like to set the stage by sticking my unwelcome protruding limbs into Jesus Mike's sacred territory, and discuss a video game I played (or attempted to) not long ago.

Preview Review: Year in Review |
This is not a review of a new game, or any other product, this is a review of my reviews. No not really a promotional thing, more of a nostalgic thing. Preview Review was an experiment as well as a gimmick, I wanted to know if first impressions colored actual reviews of game play. I wanted to know if paying more attention to the construction of a game is as interesting as looking at how fun the game is to play
